Dad redecorates ride to honor son’s unit - from the Army Times

Father shows Army pride with care packages, drop-zone visits

When Sgt. Jeremy Johnston was a teenager in Grand Prairie, Texas, his dad drove him to high school in a striped, shocking pink 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible with a black interior speckled in pink polka dots.

“I loved it. My dad’s a disco freak, he loves reggae music, he’s just kinda out there,” said Johnston, a team leader in B Company, 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. “You just gotta go with the flow with my dad.”
